Wildlife Watch text alerts: SMS terms
Program. Wildlife Watch text alerts are a free service of the California Farm Bureau Federation. When Wildlife Watch staff approve a report of wildlife activity near the ZIP code you choose, we send a short text describing the report, its approximate distance, and a link to the map.
How you sign up. You opt in on our website at californiawildlifewatch.org/alerts by entering your mobile number and ZIP code and checking the consent box. After you sign up, we send one welcome text confirming your alerts.
How often. Message frequency varies with wildlife activity near you. We limit alerts to no more than 5 per day per number.
Cost. Wildlife Watch does not charge for alerts. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
To stop. Reply STOP to any message at any time. We will send one final message confirming you are unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts. To rejoin, reply START or sign up again on our website.
For help. Reply HELP to any message, or email wildlifewatch@cfbf.com.
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Alerts are for awareness only and are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
Privacy. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our privacy policy.
Changes. We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page.
